Every Armor Set in Tears of the Kingdom

Below you will find all the armor sets available in Tears of the Kingdom, their locations, abilities, and defensive capabilities.

Ancient Hero Aspect Armor

This is the holy grail of armor sets in TotK as it is a single piece of armor that covers Link from head to toe. When fully upgraded, it offers some impecable defense and it also increases the attack power of the Master Sword beam.

That said, it’s no easy feat to obtain as players will have to complete all 152 shrines in the game to unlock it, making this a major achievement for any player willing to take on the challenge.

Archaic Armor Set

These are some of the first armor pieces you can find in the tutorial Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom, which players will have seen in the trailers and promotional material.

While the tunic and legwear offer no additional set bonuses, the Archaic Warm Greaves will provide the Cold Resistance bonus, protecting you from colder climates. This is especially helpful during the tutorial since you’ll need some protection as you explore the snow-covered areas do the Great Sky Island.

Hero of the Wild Set

Originally a reward for completing every shrine in BOTW, the Hero of the Wild set returns in TOTK as one of the sets scattered around The Depths. However, instead of being found inside abandoned mines, each piece of the Wild Set is found inside the skull of a great skeleton.

Individually, this set offers no perks (other than looking cool), but with a full set you’ll get an increase to your attack power, making this a good set if you want that classic Link look, and to deal out some extra damage.

Awakening Armor Set

The Awakening Set is a new amiibo set introduced in TOTK, but players don’t have to own the toys-to-life figurine in order to claim this set. There are a series of puzzles locking the pieces behind stone doors, and we have a guide on how to get the whole set.

Like the Hero of the Wild Set, each piece of armor offers no perks, but together gives players a bonus to their attack power, so if you fancy a more cartoon look while you adventure, this is your set.

Barbarian Armor Set

A fan-favorite set from BOTW, the Barbarian Armor returns in TotK. While the locations can be found by completing the Misko’s Treasure quest, players can find them anytime in a series of caves.

Each piece of this set provides players with an attack buffing effect, making you a more formidable fighter and able to deal more damage. As a bonus, wearing the full set will reduce the stamina used when performing charged attacks, meaning you can use harder-hitting attacks more often.

Cece’s Hat

With all the armor in Tears of the Kingdom, Link is already quite the fashionable fellow, but this rather eccentric piece is undoubtedly the most out there. Cece’s Hat doesn’t offer any bonus other than looking fashionable and comes as a reward for completing the Mayoral Election Side Adventure found in Hateno Village.

Champion’s Leathers

The Champion’s Leathers returns in Tears of the Kingdom, this time with some extra flair thanks to extra leather padding and gauntlets. It’s worth picking this up early to give yourself some decent defense when you first enter Hyrule.

Aside from looking awesome, this piece of armor will let players shoot sword beams from the Master Sword, even without being at full health.

Charged Armor Set

The Charged Set offers a bonus unique to Tears of the Kingdom, increasing Link’s attack power during thunderstorms. When wearing all three pieces, players get the Stormy Weather Charge bonus which raises the speed of charged attacks and produces an electric burst at the end of combos.

Now at least the rainy weather and lighting will be a little less of a nuisance and more of a helpful boon.

Having the full set reduces Link’s stamina usage when he jumps while climbing, so you can make more jumps, more frequently, and climb any mountain with ease.

For those who want a bit of edge during their playthrough, you will want to locate the Dark Armor set that turns Link into Dark Link. This journey starts by talking to the Bargainer statue in Lookout Landing and then finding five more within The Depths.

This armor provides no bonuses on its own, but as a set, will give Link increased movement speed at night.

The Depths Armor Set

The Dark set isn’t the only armor players can buy from the Bargainer Statues. In fact, a brand new set of armor can be bought after talking to the statue in Lookout Landing and finding all six subterranean Bargainers.

The Depths armor set is especially useful when wandering around underground, as it wards off the effects of gloom for a short period of time. The full set will provide additional Gloom Attack resistance, making it a great choice if you plan to explore and combat enemies in the Depths.

If you want to stay cool while looking cool, the Desert Voe armor is a stylish way to do so. But good looks don’t come cheap, as Link will have to fork up a little over 2,000 rupees to afford this outfit.

Each piece of this armor set will provide protection from hot weather, making it easier to traverse hot climates. With a full set, you will get the Shock Damage Resistance bonus, giving you protection from electric attacks, making this a multi-protection set.

With each piece of the Evil Spirit set, players get increased stealth, making sneaking by or up to enemies easier. With a full set, Link can ignore Stal enemies and gets increased damage with bone weapons while also taking on the appearance of a villain.

That said, each piece of the armor takes considerable effort to obtain, so clear your schedule and strap on your problem-solving hat.

While it’s a chore to piece together, each armor piece grants Link increased attack power and has a bonus that decreases the amount of stamina consumed by charged attacks. It’s a great option if you want to dish out big damage and look awesome while doing so.

Matt is a freelance writer based in the UK and has spent over three years covering and writing about video games. He discovered his love of games journalism while attending Canterbury Christchurch University, where he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Game Design and has been writing ever since. He will find any excuse to play and write about games. When he isn't fighting dragons or exploring far-off galaxies, he spends his free time playing D&D, listening to music, or reading a good book. His primary game bests are Diablo IV, the Final Fantasy series, D&D, and anything new releasing that tickles his fancy.
