Vermintide 2 is an excellent co-operative, horde based, rat-smashing simulator. I enjoyed it when I played it for review, and have been knocking out a couple of games every week since then. Today is the day when Xbox One owners finally get to join in the fun.

There are two versions available, the Standard Edition for $29,99/€29,99/£23,99 or the Premium Edition for $44,99/€44,99/£35,99. The Premium Edition includes a Sigmar Keep Statue, Helmgart Heraldry Themed Skins, Premium Edition Portrait Frame, and three exclusive Heroic Deeds. Game Pass holders can also download the Standard Edition via their Game Pass, so they have no excuse not to try this one out. There is also an upgrade option available from the Standard Edition to the Premium Edition, for those who play it on Game Pass and enjoy the game.

Vermintide 2 is a visually stunning and groundbreaking melee action game pushing the boundaries of the first person co-op genre. Set during the apocalyptic End Times of the Warhammer world – the game introduces the dark, bloody and twisted forces of Chaos as an enemy faction. Other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System. The game is Enhanced for Xbox One X and supports Native 4K on that system.

I’d strongly recommend people check this one out; it has been incredibly fun to play with friends. Tweaks and balancing since the game launched also mean that the in-game experience is much smoother now, thanks to developers FatShark paying very close attention to the difficulty spikes.

All in all, it is a fun and rewarding experience, especially with a group of friends. If you try it out, let us know what you think of the game in the comments section below.
