One of the biggest announcements at E3 2019, despite being long in the rumors, is that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It’s one of the games I loved the most this gen, and I’ll probably be playing it all over again once it releases over there later this year.
One of the biggest announcements at E3 2019 was that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It’s one of the games I loved the most this generation, and I’ll probably be playing it all over again once it releases over there later this year.
We already reported about the announcement, which has arrived during the much appreciated Nintendo Direct from E3 2019, but today we have more details to share thanks to CD Projekt RED’s official Twitter account, which has disclosed some technical particulars.
The Polish developer has revealed that the game will be running at 540p on portable mode, on a screen which is capable of up 720p as you might remember, and 720p on your home TV. The latter will be equipped with a variable resolution, so expect it to drop in more complex situations to properly handle the frame rate.
The game is “roughly” 32GB, so it’ll require you to purchase an SD memory to run it on your console or have it on a card at retail. It’s going to be the biggest game to ever release on Nintendo Switch in terms of the sheer size of the download, and we comprehend where this is coming from.
Finally, it won’t support cross-saves, so in case you’re playing on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One you should not expect to carry your progress onto the Switch. That’s quite predictable if you consider that this is a single-player RPG title and doesn’t come with any multiplayer mode for you to keep up the play.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition releases, with Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone plus 16 free DLC, on Nintendo Switch in 2019.
