The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced a bit out of nowhere at E3 2018, and as already explained in the past it was kind of Bethesda’s way to get rid of the pressure of fans and the press about a Skyrim follow up.

In a recent interview, Bethesda’s marketing head Pete Hines has further added on the concept and said that at the very least the strategy has worked, since supporters are quite understanding that the developer and publisher now only needs time to deliver the best game possible for the franchise.

“I don’t know about ‘letting them breathe’,” said Hines, “but it does help reduce the number of times we talk about anything as a publisher and somebody replies with: ‘when is The Elder Scrolls VI.”

“Arkane announces their next thing and people ask “when is The Elder Scrolls VI?” and it doesn’t have anything to do with it. But at least now we have formally talked about The Elder Scrolls VI and given context, it does minimise some of that.”

The much anticipated role playing game hasn’t received a release date or window yet, so it’ll still take quite a long time before we can put our hands on it or even see it in action.
