PUBG Dev To Stop Steam Family Share Support In An Effort To Avoid Cheating

PUBG Corp is at a war with the unethical hacking in the PlayerUnknown’s Battleground and is currently focusing mainly to make improvements or modifications in the game which will help them in getting rid of the cheaters. In the latest blog post by PUBG Corp, they announced that a major change, which is the game will no longer support Steam’s Family Sharing and the reason behind this is that the cheaters exploited Steam’s family sharing.

They said, “we have decided to deactivate this feature because we have identified a number of vulnerabilities that are being exploited. Please understand that we are introducing this measure to fight abuse and ensure a fair environment.”

In addition to that, they also announced changes in the In-game report Function, File modification as well. They are building an internal report system which will help them to scan through reports faster. And also, modification or tampering with the game files might get you banned permanently. Also, any software that “hooks into the game” will be blocked, like Reshade.

PUBG Corp. has a dedicated team of developers with the primary focus of banning the cheaters. They have been testing the anti-cheat software on their test servers for the past weeks.

The new anti-cheat is still being developed but, the full version will hit the official servers in the upcoming week.
