Last week a rumor popped up on the Internet claiming that a Prince of Persia Remake would be releasing for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. While the rumor has since been corroborated by multiple journalists, it has now been revealed that few details in it were incorrect.

The rumor, born from a Guatemala-based retailer that had introduced Prince of Persia Remake in its listings, reported that the title will release only on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Talking to a follower on Twitter, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, Daniel Ahmad, has shared that the original Prince of Persia Remake rumor was wrong about the platforms and date.

The official announcement is expected to be made onĀ September 10’s Ubisoft Forward, where the published is also likely to be re-revealing God of Monsters as Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

Considering Daniel Ahmad said platforms were wrong, Prince of Persia Remake could be a big-scale project also coming to next-gen consoles at a later stage, instead of a quicker remaster of sorts dropping in less than one year from now. However, that option can’t be ruled out, however, as another ResetEra insider had pointed out the game being a simple remaster of Sands of Time.

At any case, the first Prince of Persia console game since 2008 is seemingly about to be confirmed, reviving one of the dormient Ubisoft IP together with Splinter Cell.
