Oxenfree and Afterparty developer Night School Studio is now a part of Netflix
Netflix officially enters the video game making business.

Streaming giant Netflix and independent video company Night School Studio have both made official announcements on their respective blogs — Night School will be joining Netflix. Night School Studio promises that the company will run the same as it has been and that Netflix cares “for protecting our studio culture and creative vision.” The company will be the first video game development studio owned by Netflix.
Night School Studio was first founded in 2014. The company gained notoriety with its first major release, Oxenfree, in 2016. Oxenfree is a mystery graphic-adventure game where players take control of a teenage girl trying to solve a mystery on a strange island. After Oxenfree, Night School Studio would release Afterparty, another graphic-adventure game where two young people try to figure out how to escape Hell.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals was announced at Nintendo’s April Indie World Showcase, and was originally slated to come out later in 2021. But now it is slated to be “coming soon” for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
Netflix generally centers on streaming television shows and movies. The streaming giant has invested a lot of money in creating exclusive content on its streaming sites. They own several popular streaming shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher TV show. There have been talks about Netflix going into the video game-making business for a while now, with Night School Studio being potentially the first in a line of purchases for the company.
