Right after the original game became offered as one of November’s PlayStation Plus freebies, news has surfaced on the highly anticipated Nioh 2. And fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on it.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Team Ninja producer Fumihiko Yasuda confirmed that Nioh 2 will arrive on March 13, 2020, for PlayStation 4.

He then explained why it took so long to nail down a definite date for the game. “One of the primary reasons for not rushing to set a launch date was to ensure that we can achieve a ‘genuine evolution’ from Nioh, which to us meant that we needed to bring in fresh new elements while retaining the things that we felt were right from the first game. Although there weren’t enough significant changes in the Alpha, we now feel that we have come much closer to reaching our goals,” he explained.

Yasuda then had even more good news — players will be able to experience Nioh 2 a little sooner than planned. An open beta is set to kick off on Nov. 1 through Nov. 10, giving fans more than a week to see what’s on tap.

“All players will be able to experience new elements such as our extensive character customization feature, our newest weapon- the Switchglaive, and so much more,” the producer explained.

This beta will be downloadable from the PlayStation Store and should be on hand very soon. Keep an eye out for its arrival!

Finally, for those that want to pre-order the game, it’s available now through the PlayStation Store. Both a standard and Deluxe Edition are on hand, with bonus items for those that jump on board!

Don’t miss the Nioh 2 open beta when it launches later this week, and the full game when it arrives in March! Check out the latest trailer below.
