For many, the word “Nintendo” is practically synonymous with video games. In fact, there are some who have become used to their parents referring to all of their gaming consoles as “a Nintendo.” So it shouldn’t come as a surprise when Nintendo pulls off a feat like selling three-fourths of a billion units across all of their main consoles.

According to Nintendo’s latest earnings report, 41.67 million Nintendo Switch units have been sold as of September of this year. This means that in the mere two and a half years that the console has been on the market, it has outsold the Nintendo 64 (which sold 32.93 million units in its lifetime), the GameCube (at 21.74 million units sold), and the Wii U, (at 13.56 million units sold). The Switch is also quickly closing in on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which sold 49.10 million units.

The Switch does still have a long way to go before reaching the sales levels of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, which sold 61.91 million units, and the Nintendo Wii, which sold a whopping 101.63 million units during its console cycle. However, it’s when you combine all these statistics, including sales of Nintendo’s various handheld consoles, that you get the most impressive number. After adding in the 118.69 million Game Boys and Game Boy Colors, the 81.51 million Game Boy Advances, the 154.02 million Nintendo DS’s, and the 75.45 million Nintendo 3DS’s sold in their lifetimes, you get a grand total of 752.21 million Nintendo consoles sold worldwide.

It’s also worth noting that that this number only includes Nintendo’s major consoles, so it doesn’t count sales of Nintendo’s micro-consoles, the NES and SNES Classic Editions, or the company’s less popular hardware, like the Virtual Boy. If we did add in the 3.6 million NES Classics, the 5.28 million SNES Classics, the 770,000 Virtual Boys, and the 43.4 million units of various Game & Watch hardware sold, then we reach a grand total of 805.26 million units of Nintendo hardware sold.
