You might have heard about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch, and that the game has been through a lot of compromises to run on the latest console from the Japanese platform owner.

That was a given if you consider that the game had also been through a lot of those compromises on Xbox One and PS4, which are hugely more powerful than Nintendo Switch, so it didn’t come as a surprise to many fans of the series.

Those knew about that and knew that the ‘magic’ would have truly happened on handheld mode, where you’d been able to play one of the biggest action RPG of the generations on the go thanks to the Nintendo Switch also being a portable console.

God of War 2018’s creative director Cory Barlog seems to know that well, and he is indeed surprised and even amazed at the outcome of the work done by CD Projekt RED and Saber Interactive to make the title run ‘so well’ on handheld mode.

“I absolutely LOVE being able to play Witcher III on my Switch Lite,” he said in one tweet, poking some fun at the name ‘Switcher’, which has been adopted by the community to dub the latest port in the franchise for Switch.

“It is a portable version of a game that is like 3x the size of ALL the games I have ever made combined!” he added in admiration. “It is some kind of dark sorcery that did to get it run on the Switch, so I am more than cool with the graphical tradeoffs required to realize this glorious feat of dev magic.”

You can play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch right now, and that would be something that Cory Barlog would 100% suggest you do if you could talk to him, that’s granted.
