Ewoks Are Coming To Star Wars: Battlefront 2

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

I’ve always maintained that the Ewoks are evil. Not because they are alien, ambiguous, or furry, but because they are short. Call me crazy, but short people simply cannot be trusted. That especially goes for short aliens.

I’ve always maintained that the Ewoks are evil. Not because they are alien, ambiguous, or furry, but because they are short. Call me crazy, but short people simply cannot be trusted. That especially goes for short aliens. People do like Ewoks though, which is why they are being brought into Battlefront 2. It’s not just a cosmetic addition either, as an entirely new game mode is being introduced.

The new mode, called Night on Endor, will be arriving as a free update on April 18. It will pit Imperial Stormtroopers desperately trying to hold out against a tide of furry, round bellied, freaks. Frankly, it sounds like the stuff of nightmares. Imagine those poor Stormtroopers, just trying to spread the good word about the Empire, and suddenly a chattering bag of teeth runs out of the dark at you. The Stormtroopers need to survive until they can be extracted, while the Ewoks have infinite lives. Once again the brave troops of our fine Empire must suffer a harsh indignity, but I am sure they will be up to the task.

As well as the new mode, microtransactions are also returning to the game. Now, I had a lot to say about those when the game first launched, and am curious to see how it will all play out this time. There is also more information coming about updates to the game in early May. Apparently different seasons of updates will be themed around important Star Wars events. Should you be in the mood, you can read a full list of patch notes here.

If I am honest, I haven’t really played Battlefront 2 much since launch, having been driven away by the microtransactions. I am unsure if I will get back into it because of this, but I am sure that people out there will revel in some pro-Ewok propaganda. As for me, I just have one question. What about the droid attack on the Wookies?
