The next entry in the Skate series hasn’t been heard from since its short reveal at last year’s EA Play, but Electronic Arts has now unveiled the developer behind it. Turns out, it is a newly-opened studio, Full Circle, that will be headed by some familiar faces.
Leading the new team will be former Xbox Live boss Daniel McCulloch, with former Skate producers Deran Chung and Cuz Parry officially set to return as senior designers. So far, it isn’t clear if the developing Skate game will be a sequel or reboot, but McCulloch has hinted at the game being multiplayer-focused and having a size-able setting.
“We’re all about having fun and making great games that people want to play with their friends,” he expressed to VentureBeat. “And, we’re looking for more developers to help us build compelling worlds for players to explore.” From the sound of it, this new Skate may hold many concepts introduced by previous games, which were all created by the now-shuttered EA Black Box.
Full Circle is said to be located in Vancouver, Canada, but will be “embracing a geo-diverse team,” with staffers being based around the world. The studio hasn’t detailed what other IP it may focus on, but if it’s anything like EA Black Box, we may see other extreme sports titles from this new developer.
