The game released in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360, receiving new version for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and coming to Nintendo Switch in April.
Capcom’s been willing to work on a sequel, with Devil May Cry 5’s director Itsuno who ultimately decided to give the latest entry in Dante and co.’s series maximum priority.
Perhaps, the reception of this anime will give the Japanese developer and publisher further indications about how to behave with a second chapter.
CG company Sublimation is working on Dragon’s Dogma’s anime, which has been described like this in an official blurb:
“Based on a world-famous action RPG set in an open world, Dragon’s Dogma from Capcom will be brought to life as a Netflix original anime series.
The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart.
On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.”
It’ll be interesting to see how Netflix’s audience will react to a relatively new IP being adapted into an anime.
Capcom’s already on Netflix thanks to Castlevania and Devil May Cry animes, so it’s not a new experience for the company.
