Nintendo is killing E3 2019, as expected. During their Nintendo Direct earlier today, the company announced that the Collection of Mana will be released later today on the Nintendo eShop.

Collection of Mana will be a localized version of the Seiken Densetsu Collection that never made it outside of Japan two years ago. It will likely contain the first three games in the Seiken Densetsu series that launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) back in the 1990s. The three games in the collection are Seiken Densetsu also known as Final Fantasy Adventure; the sequel Secrets of Mana; and Seiken Densetsu 3, a third game in the series that never made it out of Japan.

Earlier this year, reported by Game Informer, Square Enix quietly trademarked Collection of Mana in Europe, launching rumors of the game’s content and E3 2019 announcements. Back in 2017, this collection was released in Japan under the name Seiken Densetsu Collection.

Final Fantasy Adventure, the first in the Mana series was a spin-off of the Final Fantasy series back in the 1990s. It made use of real-time battles, which we can definitely expect in the Nintendo Switch version, instead of turn-based systems like the previous games. Secret of Mana is the sequel series, followed by Seiken Densetsu 3.

Seiken Densetsu 3 is now named Trials of Mana and available in this collection. This is the first time the game will officially be seen and translated outside of Japan. Many fan translations exist and, as reported by Game Informer, it was a very text and dialog heavy game, making text and translations difficult at the time due to the SNES.

As announced at E3 2019, all three games are available later today on the Nintendo Switch in the Nintendo eShop.
