Platinum Games may be bringing back one of their beloved favorites to kick off 2020 with a bang.

A listing over on the Microsoft Store suggests that the developer is working alongside Sega to remaster Vanquish, with a release date of Feb. 17, 2020. According to the listing, the game will be “remastered for the first time on Xbox One,” and will run at “4K Graphics at 60FPS” on “Xbox One X.”

The listing shouldn’t be too big of a shock, as Sega previously released the game in 4K format for PC. But seeing the game remastered for Xbox One — and more than likely, PlayStation 4 — would be a real treat for fans that missed it the first time around.

The game initially released back in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, putting players in the shoes of a heroic soldier named Sam Gideon. He loads up into a bad-ass mech suit, taking out enemies with sheer firepower and a jet-powered dropkick. With its beautiful visuals and kinetic gameplay, the title stood out from other action games at the time.

Here’s the official description for the game, straight from the product page. And, no, this isn’t for the original Xbox 360 release, which is currently backward compatible on Xbox One:

“The hit sci-fi shooter returns. An overpopulated Earth suffocating under limited resources looks to Providence, the solar-powered space colony for support. When Providence is suddenly taken over by a mutinous group and its technology used to devastate cities, it’s up to a specially trained unit of space marines to reclaim the colony.

Equipped with BLADE, the experimental weapon system that can scan, copy, and save up to three existing weapons, space DARPA agent Sam Gideon must infiltrate Providence, defeat legions of future-tech foes, and disable the energy transmitter threatening life on Earth.”

Sega hasn’t officially commented on the remaster yet. But announcing it in time for Vanquish’s tenth anniversary would be a nice touch. We could even hear something about it as soon as next week, during The Game Awards 2019.

You can check out the first screenshots below, which look quite promising — especially running at 60 frames per second. Is it February yet?
