Nintendo Switch has managed to reach 41.67 million units sold worldwide. The result has been announced during the latest conference call with investors and analysts where data were provided about the FY quarter ending September 30, 2019.

Nintendo had plans for selling 18 million over the entire fiscal year, and, as of September 30, 2019, it has lots to do to reach that milestone, still having to sell 11.07 million units.

The company is still committed to that target, which is rather ambitious but not unreachable at all if you consider that it has just launched the critically acclaimed Luigi’s Mansion 3 and has to launch Pokémon Sword and Shield, together with a limited edition bundle, that is expected to be very successful. The holiday will also see a push for Nintendo Switch Lite, tailored for kids and families.

Here’s an updated hardware sales list for Nintendo products, as shared by MyNintendoNews:

Nintendo Switch

  • Hardware: 41.67 million units (+4.8 million from the previous quarter)
  • Software: 246.01 million units (+35.88)

Nintendo 3DS

  • Hardware: 75.45 million units (+0.17)
  • Software: 378.12 million units (+2.6)

Wii U

  • Hardware: 13.56 million units (-)
  • Software: 102.85 million units (+0.11)

As you can see, funny enough, Nintendo 3DS is still doing a lot in terms of sales, going +0.17 as for the hardware and +2.6 for what matters software. Software is also +0.11 on Wii U, perhaps because of retro gaming.
