According to a new rumor, the Call of Duty Battle Royale, which hasn’t been confirmed to be in the making yet, could be coming to Nintendo Switch as a standalone release, separate from Black Ops 4.

That means that at least based on this new piece of information coming from Gaming Intel, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 wouldn’t be coming to Nintendo Switch as Activision and Treyarch have already made clear at the time of the first reveal.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII Battle Royale Nintendo Switch Version

Anyway, the new rumor claims that the Battle Royale would be a standalone release which would be coming bundled in editions of Black Ops 4 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and totally standalone on Nintendo Switch.

The battle royale is reportedly in the making of Raven Software as a completely different piece of software, so that would make sense in terms of technology applied to the less powerful platform from Nintendo.

On top of that, Switch is the talk of the town now and has a great momentum in terms of sales, and it’s basically the sole platform that Fortnite and PUBG haven’t explored yet. So it would make sense for Activision to try and catch a new audience to the genre and the series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is being fully revealed on May 17, so the truth is right behind the corner.
