Tears of the Kingdom – Elixir Recipe Guide
Tears of the Kingdom players can craft Elixirs to endure extreme temperatures, gain buffs, and prepare for intense battles.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players can again create special elixirs recipes in their Cooking Pots by combining Monster Parts with bugs and critters. These potions offer big boosts to Stealth, Stamina, and Health, and can also offer buffs that are critical to success in battle.
If you are anything like me, the first time you picked up Breath of the Wild, you tried to put a cricket in your Hylian Rice and made a disgusting blob instead of anything helpful. Here is a detailed recipe guide to ensure you don’t waste ingredients, and create the most effective elixirs Hyrule has to offer in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to craft Elixirs in Tears of the Kingdom
Just like when cooking delicious snacks with foraged goods and groceries, elixir recipes require the use of a Cooking Pot to be crafted.
Instead of stacking meat, rice, or veggies, players will instead grab a fistful of monster parts and at least one insect or critter. After stacking a total of five ingredients, they can be tossed in the pot and simmered up into a useful brew.
Every Type of Elixir in Tears of the Kingdom
Like in the previous game, there are a number of important elixirs that can be crafted, including:
- Chilly Elixir
- Electro Elixir
- Energizing Elixir
- Fireproof Elixir
- Hasty Elixir
- Hearty Elixir
- Sneaky Elixir
- Mighty Elixir
- Tough Elixir
- Spicy Elixir
- Bright Elixir
- Sticky Elixir
Best Elixir Recipes for Early Game in Tears of the Kingdom
It has been surprising to find that Tears of the Kingdom is much harder to get started in than Breath of the Wild. I found myself being shot, smacked and electrocuted to death only minutes after stepping into Hyrule. Because of that, early use of elixir recipes can be an important game-changer.
The best early-game recipes are The Stealth, Mighty, and Tough elixirs. Sunset Fireflies are easy to amass, and the sneak boost can help fans sneak around encampments before they have strong armor. Additionally, the boost I got from Mighty and Stealth elixirs made early-game fights much less daunting. It was especially helpful when I was low on weapons other than sticks.

How to improve Elixir time in Tears of the Kingdom
Like in the previous game, Tears of the Kingdom players can improve the quality of their elixir recipes for a longer or more robust effect. This can be done by adding additional ingredients with similar effects.
For example, players could add two Sunset Fireflies to a Stealth Elixir, or even toss in a Silent Princess flower, to increase the potency of the brew they create. Personally, I found this difficult to do in the early game when resources were scarce, but as you build up your elixir cabinet, it because less worrisome to dump a few extra items in the pot.
