How to mute voice chat in Destruction AllStars

Silence your competitors.

Destruction AllStars’ multiplayer format means that, at times, you might prefer to enjoy some quieter matches. With up to 16 players per game, depending on what mode you play, it can be overwhelming to have 15 other gamers chatting away at the same time. Disabling voice chat, then, might be something you want to consider.

The reason why you can hear other players in matches is because Destruction AllStars places everyone in a temporary party for that round. Once a match is over, that party is disbanded, but you are placed in a new party when a new match starts.

Luckily, Lucid Games’ vehicular combat title has a voice chat feature that enables you to mute other players. There are three simple steps to take in order to turn other players’ voices off, and here is how you do it:

  • Press the PlayStation button in the center of your PlayStation 5 controller
  • Find the Destruction AllStars Game Chat card in the menu that pops up
  • Press the square button to mute voice chat

Alternatively, you can set up a private party with your friends and keep voice chat to those of you present in that group. To do this, you must complete the in-game tutorial first. Once you have cleared that, follow these steps:

  • Press the PS button on your controller
  • Select Game Base from the menu, and press the square button to Create Party
  • Select the friends you wish to play with to that party
  • Send a message invite to those people and wait for them to accept

If you opt for the latter route, it is worth double-checking that you don’t have voice chat turned off in your system settings. Your party won’t be able to hear you if you have disabled the feature, so ensure it’s toggled on before jumping into Destruction AllStars in a private party.
