Dammon can craft you some pretty neat armor in Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as advance Karlach’s companion quest provided you have the materials for him, but you’ll have to catch him first as he doesn’t stay in one place for too long. As the story progresses, Dammon moves around with the other Tiefling refugees from the Druid Grove. Find out where Dammon is located in each Act below:

How to Get Dammon’s Flawed Helldusk Armor Set

Dammon’s forge that he uses to craft you some nice armor will be unlocked by speaking with Dammon during Act 2 in the Last Light Inn. Bring Damon materials from the Underdark, particularly the Grymforge, and he will craft the Flawed Helldusk armor set. This mighty Heavy to Medium Armor set cannot be found elsewhere in the game, only crafted by Dammon.

Karlach is a hot-headed Tiefling whose heart was replaced with an infernal engine during her time in the nine Hells. Unfortunately, Karlach’s infernal engine heart keeps heating up and will soon consume her in flames if she doesn’t do something about it. Luckily, Dammon has some experience as an infernal smithy and may be able to help. By bringing Infernal Iron to him, Dammon can tinker with Karlach’s engine and cool down our fiery companion.

Infernal Iron can be found in the following locations:

  • Blighted Village: Find an Infernal Iron from a chest in the north house’s cellar.
  • Zhentarim Hideout: In a trapped chest behind a pair of locked doors to the north of the hideout.
  • Shattered Sanctum: Located in the Goblin Camp’s far north, behind Dror Ragzlin.
  • Underdark’s Grymforge: Accept and complete Stonemason Kith’s quest by passing History, Investigation, and Perception checks.
  • The Mason’s Guild: On a workbench in the courtyard of the Mason’s Guild in Act 2. The Mason’s Guild is located southwest of the Last Light Inn and just east of the House of Healing.
  • Gauntlet of Shar: In an Opulent Chest in the vault room behind a DC30 locked door near Balthazar’s workshop.
  • Flymm Cargo: Found on the floor in the basement in Act 3.
  • Killing Steelwatch robots in Act 3: loot the Steelwatch corpses to get Infernal Iron.

Be warned: avoiding the Infernal Iron quest to fix Karlach’s engine has some negative consequences. Forget to kick it off before saving the Emerald Grove, and you’ll wave goodbye to Dammon altogether. So be sure to talk with Dammon before you rescue the Tiefling refugees.
