Unfortunately, many outfits won’t appear until you get closer to Baldur’s Gate. Here are BG3 clothes shop locations for new armor and outfits.

Where to Find New Armor & Outfits in Baldur’s Gate 3

Of the locations you can explore in Baldur’s Gate 3, the best areas to find new armor and outfits for your party members will be Emerald Grove, the Underdark, The Mountain Pass, Last Light Inn, and Baldur’s Gate. However, Emerald Grove has slim pickings because it’s the starter area, although these areas feature a handful of merchants. Honestly, the best way to find new armor for your party members will be by looting enemies and completing quests.

Clothing outfits, however, appear more often in Baldur’s Gate’s Lower City. You’ll have a chance to visit the city when you reach Act 3, and there are several clothing stores for you to explore, and many of them are purely cosmetic. Still, it might be fun to try something new, given you and your Baldur’s Gate 3 party have spent nearly the entire campaign running through the woods and avoiding cultists in the Shadow Curse.

One of the better armor vendors in the Emerald Grove is Aaron, the druid you meet close to the entrance. They have a variety of armor for sale, although it is expensive when you first arrive. As you progress through your Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign, you can expect more items to become easier to purchase, making it a much more worthwhile vendor to visit. Check out his wares before leaving this to make your way to the Underdark or the Mountain Pass.

Armor pieces you can purchase from Aaron include:

  • Gloves of Missile Snaring.
  • Hedge Wanderer Armour.
  • Leather Armour.

You’ll also want to make sure you speak to Dammon while in Emerald Grove. He’s the Tiefling smithy, and he’ll not only help you advance Karlach’s personal quest but also sell you a handful of weapons and armor. His selection of wares isn’t great in the Emerald Grove, but advance his questline to help Karlach, and he’ll be able to make you some pretty nifty gear later on.

Alternatively, you can speak with Grat the Trader in the Goblin Camp or Roah inside the Goblin Stronghold, but they might not talk to you based on the decisions of your campaign. The same goes for Brem in the Zhentarim Outpost on the way to the Mountain Pass.

Gloves of Missile Snaring Stats

The Gloves of Missile Snaring are an excellent pair of gear early on in BG3. You can acquire them from Aaron, the trader, for 160 gp. Here are the stats for the Gloves down below.

  • Rarity: Rare
  • Weight: 0.5kg
  • Price: 160gp
  • Missile Snaring: You can intercept missiles from ranged weapon attacks with a Reaction, reducing their damage by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier.

Best Armor Vendors in The Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3

After going through the Emerald Grove, you’ll have the chance to adventure in the Underdark. This location can be dangerous, but if you visit the Myconid Colony, find Derryth and Blurg, who will have items for you to purchase in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Derryth is a merchant dwarf you’ll find at a small encampment along the path that leads out of the Myconid Colony. She’ll have a few words of complaint about her missing husband, Baelen, but more importantly, she’ll also have a couple of Armour pieces to sell you.

Armor pieces you can purchase from Derryth include:

  • Gloves of Hail of Thorns.
  • Herbalist’s Gloves.

Blurg is a hobgoblin trader in Ebonlake Grotto, just across from the Sovereign Spaw. He’ll introduce you to his friend Omeluum, kicking off a side quest that leads you to the Arcane Tower, but after your initial conversation with him, he’ll sell you a few items, including:

  • Boots of Genial Striding.
  • Cinder Shoes.
  • Circlet of Blasting.

Best Armor Vendors in The Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3

I only found one note armor merchant from my playthrough while exploring the Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3. This was Lady Esther, the woman you meet close to the entrance of the Mountain Pass, overlooking the Rosymorn Monastery. Speak with her, and she’ll have a handful of items for sale before you make your way to the Githyanki Creche.

Some of Lady Esther’s Armour pieces include:

  • Gloves of Cinder and Sizzle.
  • The Graceful Cloth.
  • Gloves of Baneful Striking.
  • Winter’s Clutches.
  • Boots of Elemental Momentum.

Best Armor Vendors in Moonrise Towers in Baldur’s Gate 3

There’s the Moonrise Towers region when you’ve gone beyond the Underdark and the Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3. Most of this location is infested with souls the Shadow Curse corrupted, but you can find a handful of vendors at the Last Light Inn. You’ll spend most of your time here to rest, acquire quests, and speak with the tieflings. These are the best vendors to trade and develop new items, outside of earning them through completing quests or winning battles.

If you talked to Dammon previously at the Emerald Grove, he’ll now be able to forge you Flawed Helldusk Armour pieces if you give him some extra Infernal Iron and Alloy. Additionally, you’ll now be able to buy some slightly better gear from him, including a pair of Swordmaster Gloves.

At the Last Light Inn, you’ll find Mattis, who will sell you Evasive Shoes and a Cloak of Cunning Brume, and Barcus if you free him from Grymforge and convince him to stay at your camp. Barcus will sell you Acrobat Shoes and Gloves of the Automaton.

But the best Armour vendor at Last Light Inn is Quartermaster Talli, who will have all sorts of items for you to check out. Some of the Armour pieces Quartermaster Talli will sell you are:

  • Shield of Devotion.
  • Hat of Uninhibited Kushigo.
  • Obsidian Laced Robe.
  • The Mighty Cloth.
  • Yuan-Ti Scale Mail.
  • Shadeclinger Armour.
  • Barkskin Armour.
  • Cindersnap Gloves.
  • Gloves of the Balanced Hands.

Finally, reaching Baldur’s Gate is an achievement in Baldur’s Gate 3. Not only is it the place everyone has been trying to get, but it’s full of vendors for you to speak with and attempt to purchase their fine goods. There are dozens of armor vendors, many appearing at the front gate, such as the Smithy north of the Rivington General store.

When you reach the Lower Cities, there are several more options for you to pick from in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can find vendors all over the city. Still, the most notable ones you should visit are those you can speak with at the Stormshore Armoury or in the Sorcerous Sundries, although those are more magical items and wares for Sorcerers, Warlock, and Wizards. Alternatively, the Devil’s Fee has a vendor you can speak with, and there’s one at the Forge of the Nine if you’ve managed to keep Dammon alive. Finally, the Lodge is another location I highly suggest investigating for any armor-based needs.

Finally, you can also adventure down into the Undercity, where you can exchange with the Thieves Guild or speak with the speechless vendor on your way to Bhaal’s Temple. Both options are good, depending on your playthrough and your choices so far.

We won’t list all the armor and clothes you can find here, as there are so many. But needless to say, Baldur’s Gate is the place to be if you want to upgrade your style. Not only can you buy plenty of great gear from vendors, but most shops also keep products on display, which you can deftly take if you’re stealthy and morally questionable enough.

When Do Vendors Restock?

Nothing’s more frustrating than waiting for a vendor to restock their wares and fill them back up with gold for you to trade for. Vendors restock after leveling up and long resting. You should take advantage of this fact by buying and selling wares right before any level-up or long rest, so you’ll always have plenty of gold and gear.

Keep in mind that vendor inventories are also randomized. This means that if you want a shiny piece of gear from a vendor, buy it right there and then. You may not see it again for a long time.

Those are all the clothes shops in BG3, but the worst part about selling wares at vendors is determining what’s trash and what isn’t. We have a guide that tells you exactly which wares to sell and which to keep.
