There are legendary weapons and armor for you to find in Baldur’s Gate 3. These armor and weapon pieces are pretty tough to track down, but they always appear in specific locations, which makes them easier to find.
For this guide, we’re going to make it easier to track down the legendary armor, and how you can get it in Baldur’s Gate 3.
All Legendary Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3
There are two places you can typically find Legendary Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can usually earn it as a quest reward, which generally occurs in Act 3. However, you might be able to obtain it by defeating tough bosses, and it will be on their bodies when you can loot them. Both are tough ways to unlock this extraordinary armor, but it’s well worth it, such as the many legendary weapons you can find in the game.

Where to Find All Legendary Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3
Notably, all legendary armor in Baldur’s Gate 3 is found in Act 3. And half of the legendary armor you can find is tied to the optional House of Hope area, where you’ll find yourself traveling to if you want to get the Orphic Hammer without making a deal with the devil Raphael.
Here is the precise location of all legendary armor in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Gloves of Soul Catching: After defeating Raphael and setting Hope free in the House of Hope, you’ll get it as a reward.
- Helldusk Armour: You can receive this item after defeating Raphael in the House of Hope. You need to fight and defeat Raphael to loot it off his body.
- Helm of Balduran: You must explore the Wyrmway, complete the trials, and defeat Ansur.
- Viconia’s Walking Fortress: You can get this shield by defying Viconia in the House of Grief, siding with Shadowheart, and defeating Viconia.
- Mask of the Shapeshifter: The Mask of the Shapeshifter is a preorder item for Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Digital Deluxe Edition.
It may be worth noting that the Helldusk Armour has a few other pieces to its set, complete with Helldusk Boots, gloves, and a helmet; however, the Helldusk Armour is the only piece of the Helldusk set that is of Legendary rarity.
You may expect the Helm of Balduran to also come with a full Balduran armor set, but this isn’t the case in Baldur’s Gate 3. Past games in the Baldur’s Gate series had a full Balduran armor set, including an armor plate, a sword, a shield, a cloak , and the helm. But the majority of the Balduran armor seems to be absent in the third game—the legendary Helm of Balduran being the only piece of the iconic set that is obtainable in BG3.
