For the Lumina Quest, Shin Malphur might just use the System Positioning Device to send you to the Lighthouse on Mercury. In this guide we run through what you actually need to do to find the lock box and finish the quest step.

It seems that Shin Malphur has a vested interest in Public Events. The Lumina Exotic Hand Cannon quest just arrived in Destiny 2, and one of the steps can send us to eight different locations, one of which is The Lighthouse on Mercury. If your System Positioning Device tells you to go here, then you have the only awkward location in the quest that you need to get to. In this guide, I will show you what you need to do.

The Lighthouse On Mercury | Lumina Quest Step

Mercury Maps Destiny 2

For this part in the quest, you are looking for the lock box that the System Positioning Device tells you can be found at the Lighthouse on Mercury. What you need to do is take part in the Public Event on Mercury, and make your way to the left platform.

You will need to hang around until the Event starts when it does, kill enemies until the Keep of Ages Past spawns. Kill it and grab the orbs it drops. Take these to the marked platforms to activate the portals, and remember, you need to do it on both sides. Jump portals will activate that allow you to get out to the far platforms on either side.

Head for the left platform, kill all the enemies and a strange Vex device will spawn in the air at the back of the platform, behind the portal. Don’t go through the portal! Destroy the floating device, then jump on the platform that appears. Keep jumping from platform to platform, destroying any devices that spawn in. Once you get to the top of the structure, you will find the lock box.

If you arrive here, and the lock box is not there, then recheck your System Positioning Device. The location of the lock box will rotate every hour; it might have skipped off to a new location.

So far, it can be either Shaft 13 on the EDZ, or Excavation Site II on Io, or the Spine of Keres at the Dreaming City, the Sinking Docks on Titan, the High Plains on the Tangled Shore, the Mistson Nessus, or Alton Dynamo on Mars, and the Lighthouse on Mercury. Click on either link for a guide on how to get there, and where to find the lockbox.

We are working on a full guide for the Lumina quest, and are updating it as we move through the steps. Best of luck, Guardian.
