A new week in Destiny 2 brings a new Exotic quest. Shin Malphur has another present for us, this time in the form of the Lumina. I’ll be filling in this guide as I go so that it will update throughout the day!

Destiny 2 – Lumina Quest Guide

Step 1 – Back to the EDZ

Salt Mines Entrance

When you log in to the game, you will have a message from Shin Malphur telling you to go to the same place as before. By this, he means the Salt Mines in Trostland on the EDZ, where you started the Thorn quest. Load into the EDZ and head for the back of the church, the entrance to the Salt Mines Lost Sector is there.

Head into the Transmat, then activate it to be teleported to a new location. Move up the path, taking out any enemies, and you will reach a barrier. To the left, just a little up the cave wall, you will see a gap you can jump through. Head on through to find a small camp, and at the very back, you will find a lockbox. Interact with the lockbox to get an item you need and end this step in the quest.

Step 2 – Finding Rose

Now, it would seem this step can send you to a couple of places. All you need to do is get there and locate a green, worn-looking box that will have some green lights on it. So far, it can be either Shaft 13 on the EDZ, or Excavation Site II on Io, or the Spine of Keres at the Dreaming City, the Sinking Docks on Titan, the High Plains on the Tangled Shore, the Mists on Nessus, or Alton Dynamo on Mars, and the Lighthouse on Mercury. Click on either link for a guide on how to get there, and where to find the lockbox. Once you have found it, you will have the next item you need for the quest.

Step 3 – Bearers of Evil Past

For this step, you need to generate 250 Orbs of Light. Grab your favorite subclass and as many Masterworked weapons as you can carry and get to it! Just play through regular content until you have generated all 250.

Step 4 – Rose Revealed

After that, you have three more mini-quests to do. You can complete them in any order.

  • Band Together – complete a 50,000 point Nightfall.
  • Face The Hordes – complete 35 points worth of Blind Well, Black Armory Forges, or Escalation Protocol.
  • Defend The Light – Kill 100 enemies without reloading your weapon. Sweet Business is great to use here.

Step 5 – Fireteam Leader

This step is a bit of a free for all. You need to complete activities in a Fireteam. Group up with friends and make sure to equip the Rose, then get to work. Playing with friends who also have Rose equipped speeds up your progress. Just do any in-game activities that you like. You might as well work on those weekly Milestones. If you want to grind it out quickly, then Lake of Shadows is, I believe, the quickest Strike in the game.

Step 6 – Strength In Numbers

For this step, you need to generate 35 Orbs of Light for other Guardians, get Guardian kills with a Hand Cannon, and then defeat Invaders in Gambit before they can destroy your teammates. So that’s the Crucible and Gambit for this, and the quickest way to do it is to co-ordinate with some friends. This step is all about being a team player.

Step 7 – Crystal Hunting With Xol

For this final step, you will need Rose equipped, and will need to complete the Will of the Thousands Strike on Mars. You will need to find and destroy eleven Crystals during the strike to charge Rose. The crystals are well spread out across the Strike, so move carefully and make sure you take them all out. Also, keep in mind that you need to destroy eleven crystal yourself, it will not count if someone else in your Fireteam destroys the. And don’t forget to look up, because some of them will be floating in the air. Finish the Strike to receive your Lumina.
