How to Make Friends Spawn Closer to You in LEGO Fortnite

If I wanted my friend to spawn far away in LEGO Fortnite, I'd just play solo instead. Here's how to fix this bug.

Playing LEGO Fortnite is more fun with friends. But you know what’s not fun? Starting a brand new game and having your friend spawn 2000 meters away from you.

Unfortunately, this scenario is pretty common. Here’s how to make your friends spawn closer to you in LEGO Fortnite.

If you’re starting a new world, the fastest way to spawn closer to your friend in LEGO Fortnite is to return to the lobby and create a new world again.

Friends spawning far away is a bug, not a randomly imposed difficulty mechanic. Trust me, I tried reaching my buddy on the other end of the map, and it turns out they’re really far away. Instead of becoming the next Forrest Gump wannabe, just return to the lobby with your friend and create a new world. Until Epic Games officially fixes this bug, your workaround for this issue is to close the world and start anew.

However, if you’ve already made some progress in your world and don’t feel like starting everything from scratch, there is a safer way to get your friend to spawn closer to you: create a new spawn point.

To create a spawn point in LEGO Fortnite, craft a bed, assign it to you, and sleep on it. This will set your spawn point to wherever that bed is located.

When you die in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll head back to the place where you originally spawned in the world. The only way to spawn somewhere else on the map is to create a new spawn point somewhere else on the map.

The only way to set a spawn point in LEGO Fortnite and manipulate your spawning location is to craft a bed, which is unlocked after crafting a Simple Shack and requires 10x Wood. As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock better-quality beds, but as far as solving the spawning bug goes, a basic green bed should work.

How to Assign Beds in LEGO Fortnite

While playing with friends, you’ll likely make a village together with its own NPCs. You’ll need to assign beds to make sure these NPCs can live in your village. To assign a bed in LEGO Fortnite, first place the beds anywhere, then interact with them. In the submenu that pops up, you should have the option to assign a bed. Choose a villager (or a human player) and that’s it!

Now that you know how to spawn closer to your friends, it’s time to learn how to fast travel. We have a guide on how to do that, along with other LEGO Fortnite guides on Gamepur.
