Pokémon: Twilight Wings is a planned, seven-episode animated series. Each episode will be approximately five minutes long, and premieres on the official Pokémon YouTube channel, announced today by The Pokémon Company.

The official blog post promises the new show will feature new Pokémon that debuted in Sword and Shield. It also specifies that this new series is separate from the main anime. These shorts are animated by Studio Colorido.

Twilight Wings appear to be similar to Pokémon Generations, another animated series separate from the main show, which went live to the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

Twilight Wings may only center on characters from Galar, whereas Generations focused on all the regions that have shown up in the games. Every three episodes were about one particular region. For example, the first three games took place on Kanto, while the preceding three chapters took place on Johto.

Pokémon: Twilight Wings is set to premiere on the official Pokémon YouTube Channel on Jan. 15, 2020.
