You might have noticed that Rockstar Games doesn’t work with big actors for its titles, despite having a huge name in the entertainment business and a huge (and well deserved) budget to sustain its efforts.

In a recent interview with Vulture, Dan Houser, the studio co-founder, has shared more information about this topic, hinting at the fact that it’s unlikely that things could change in the future nor in the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - Why Big Actors Are Missing

“We don’t bring in name actors anymore because of their egos and, most important of all, because we believe we get a better sense of immersion using talented actors whose voices you don’t recognize,” he revealed.

“I think rappers really want to do the work right,” he added about music in Rockstar’s video games. “We also always had a good experience with pop stars. But we haven’t used either significantly for a long time.”

This same article from Vulture reveals that Red Dead Redemption 2 main story is going to be 65 hours long, and the main story script was over 2000 pages long.

The next game from the GTA creators, Red Dead Redemption 2, is releasing October 26 and further improves on this mantra, since we haven’t even been informed yet about who are the actors behind main story’s characters.
