Microsoft Buys Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, Playground Games And Two More Studios

At E3 2018, Phil Spencer revealed addition of 5 new studios under Microsoft Studio banner: Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, Playground Games, Compulsion Games, and a brand new studio called The Initiative.

At E3 2018, Phil Spencer announced the creation of a new Microsoft Studio called “The Initiative”. That’s not all, the Xbox Division Boss also revealed that they have acquired not 1 or 2 but 4 video game development studios. Check out the names of the all 4 Studio below.

Microsoft Acquires Ninja Theory And 4 Other Studios

The first studio added to the Microsoft Studio brand is Undead Labs, the creator of zombie survival games: State of Decay and State of Decay 2. The second studio is Playground Games, the developer behind the popular running video game franchise Forza Horizon. Playground Games is currently working on a Forza Horizon 4 and an entirely new Project which Phil Spencer would talk about later.

The third studio is Ninja Theory, the developer behind Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Last but not the least, Microsoft also acquired Compulsion Games.

In short, Microsoft Studio now includes these 5 studios: Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory, Playground Games, Undead Labs, and The Initiative.
