Xbox One accessories will work on Project Scarlett, Microsoft confirms

Microsoft has today confirmed that some accessories that currently work with the Xbox One will be compatible with their upcoming new console, Project Scarlett.
When reached out to by Eurogamer about the compatibility of any accessories, including Microsoft’s new $180 Xbox Elite Controller 2, Microsoft responded with this statement:
“During the Xbox E3 Briefing, we announced that thousands of games across four console generations will look and play best on Project Scarlett. We also continue our commitment to compatibility by ensuring your Xbox One gaming accessories and Xbox career will also move forward with you. We have nothing further to share at this time.”
While the statement doesn’t explicitly say which accessories will still be usable on the new system, it’s fair to assume that controllers will still work fine. The new Elite controller working with Project Scarlett has been confirmed by Microsoft Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb during Youtube’s Live E3 show.
The new controller, introduced in a video at E3 and claimed by Microsoft to be the most advanced controller in the world, features adjustable tension thumbsticks, redesigned bumpers and trigger grips, and a rubberised grip, and allows for a comprehensive amount of customisation.
With confirmation that it will work with Project Scarlett, the controller may start to pick up traction as the console eSports scene continues to grow. It also provides a further option for PC gamers looking for a top-grade remote control for those games that play best with two sticks over a keyboard and mouse. You can check out the E3 video below.
