Talking with Geoff Keighley at GameLab, Todd Howard provided few more details about the future of Bethesda Game Studios and also looked at the past with the ongoing success of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

According to Howard, who serves as Bethesda Game Studios director, Skyrim is still played by millions of users and the main reason why the developer keeps releasing new version of it is that consumers keep buying them.

“Even now, the amount of people who play Skyrim seven years later; millions of people every month are playing that game,” Howard told GamesIndustry. “That’s why we keep releasing it. If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it.”

For what matters the future, he explained that the company always looks at new things that can be done in the gaming space, and the fact it is launching Fallout 76, the first online iteration for the franchise, but also the new IP Starfield clearly show that.

“Every year there’s a new idea we can’t do, and a new technology for something that excites us,” he added. “I’d say I want it to be sustainable. Eventually there will come a day where I’m not making games at Bethesda.”

“Hopefully that’s a long time away. But I want to make sure that who we are, what the worlds are, what the company is, that’s sustainable far beyond me.”

The next appointment with Bethesda is fixed at November 14, 2018 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One with Fallout 76.
