Fans of Half-Life found themselves thrown for a loop when a new VR experience, Half-Life: Alyx, was announced by Valve. But now comes the question of whether other platforms will receive the game—namely, PlayStation VR.

While speaking with Push Square, the game’s designer, Greg Coomer, opened up about possibly bringing Alyx to the console, but stopped short of confirming anything. At the moment, the team is “very focused on the initial release,” which is set for March 2020. However, Valve has “not ruled anything out” when it comes to a port.

“We believe Sony’s VR platform has been a huge success for the medium, and we assume that lots of Sony customers would love to experience this new chapter of Half-Life,” Coomer said.

At the moment, the game will only be available for SteamVR, but that could change depending on how well it’s received by fans.

With Alyx, Half-Life players will find a new level of immersion with the game. This includes interacting with environments from a first-hand perspective, such as breaking through broken walls and being able to rip a Headcrab off their face (and chucking it out the window for good measure).

The trailer below provides examples of how this new style of gameplay will work. It definitely looks like something that’s worth trying out.

Fans can pre-order the SteamVR version of Half-Life: Alyx on its official Steam page. And if you hurry, you can get a 10 percent discount.
