Uncharted Movie Loses Yet Another Director, Moving to PlayStation Productions

The Uncharted movie has lost yet another director with Dan Trachtenberg exiting the project, Deadline reports. The film has gone through a lot of turbulence, even though it looked like it was going to see the light of day soon.
We’re not getting told the reasons behind this change in direction, but there’s a chance that Trachtenberg, who directed the pilot for the TV show The Boys for Sony, might be busy on other projects. His agenda may have become too full to meet these commitments.
The silver lining here is that Sony is not despairing the news and intends to appoint a new director by the end of summer. The schedule is rigorous and requires Sony to move because shooting begins early next year.
Additional information about the movie is the project is going to the PlayStation Productions (PP) umbrella. The label was founded and announced last year where the team exclusively works on intellectual properties linked to PlayStation platform. This move makes sense given Uncharted’s origins.
PP will be producing the movie with Chuck Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad. Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Rafe Judkins are writing the script. Tom Holland remains attached to the project and is perhaps the most reliable pillar revolving around the movie for the time being.
