Slowly and steadily Undead Labs has started sharing details about State of Decay 2, the sequel to 2013 video game State of Decay 2. Recently via IGN First, it was revealed that State of Decay 2 will launch on May 22 for Xbox One and PC. In addition to this, Undead Labs reveal the price of the standard and the Ultimate Edition of the game – $30 and $50 respectively. Today, Undead Labs via IGN First revealed details regarding Xbox One X enhancements of State of Decay 2. Xbox fans will be happy to know that State of Decay 2 will run at 4K Resolution on Xbox One X, and will also support HDR.

State of Decay 2 Xbox One X Enhancements

Speaking to our friend at IGN, State of Decay 2 Executive Producer Jeff Strain said that the extra processing power of Xbox One X allowed the development team to go more stable FPS, higher resolution texture. He further added that the graphical improvements will be clearly visible to Xbox One X players – Denser Foliage, Detailed Shadows, Depth of Light from Farther Distances and Detailed Character Models.

“There are significant visual enhancements we’re able to deliver thanks to the Xbox One X. Extra memory and greater processing power gives us a more stable frame rate and lets us do more with higher resolution textures. When you’re in the game, you’ll immediately see the difference – denser foliage, detailed shadows, depth of light from farther distances, and more detailed character, models. It makes the world feel more crisp, vibrant, and like real life. And of course, it lets us run the game in 4k and HDR, which a lot of fans are excited about.”

Jeff Strain also revealed that State of Decay 2 on Xbox One X will not come with user-selectable settings like Graphics Mode or Performance Mode setting. The development team is focusing on one Xbox Oen X configuration. “As of now, we are not planning to offer the option to optimize for graphics or performance. The team wants to have the same experience for all users on Xbox”.
