Try out Stardew Valley’s multiplayer beta on PC right now

Been jonesing for more Stardew Valley, but this time with friends? Now you can jump into the Stardew Valley multiplayer beta—as long as you’re playing on PC.
The indie smash hit now lets you spend time with your buddies online as you farm, watch your crops grow, take care of animals, and even get married together. The multiplayer beta is up for grabs via Steam right now, so if you already own the game there, you’re good to go.
If you’re interested in joining (and why wouldn’t you be?) you can head over to the official Stardew Valley website for additional information on how exactly you can access the beta. Be forewarned, of course, that bugs and glitches are to be expected, and as such you may not be able to look forward to a “perfect” experience.
Right now, you can only access the beta via Steam as well, so if you bought the game on GOG.com previously, you’ll have to wait a few days in order to try it out, as access is planned further down the line.
Once you’re in, you can bring friends over to the farms you’re currently working on, though if you save your game while in the beta you won’t be able to use that save in older versions of it. With that in mind, you might just want to toy around in a new area to keep things straight.
You can invite friends via invite code, friends list, or via LAN connection, but all of your multiplayer friends need their own copy of the game as well as their own home to connect with you. After the beta period has ended, you can look forward to a full multiplayer update coming for PC users. At this time, however, there’s no such update that’s been announced for console players.
