The release date for Splatoon 2’s big Octo Expansion single player story DLC will release tomorrow, Nintendo has announced.

The news was revealed during the Splatoon 2 World Championship alongside a brand-new trailer and gameplay details.

Nintendo also announced a new line of amiibo based on the Octolings, which will be released sometime in 2018. There will also be a bunch of new weapons and stages added to the game by December 2018.

Originally, Splatoon 2 was only set to receive DLC up until July of this year, so the addition of more content is sure to be great news for a community that plays in thousands of online matches every week.

The Octo Expansion will add a new single-player story, a new playable character, and a host of new clothing options. Players will take control of Octoling no.10008, also known as Agent 8—a character that has lost their memory. At the beginning, you wake up in an underground laboratory and need to search for a way to escape.

There will be over 80 missions to take on throughout the DLC storyline. Nintendo describes the missions as difficult—supposedly some of the hardest single-player levels ever created in a Splatoon game.
