Xbox’s first-party lineup is the talk of the town lately, mainly because it’s not doing that great in comparison with Sony’s offering in terms of story-driven, single-player experiences this spring.

E3 2018 is a much-anticipated appointment for fans all over the world, especially when it comes to Microsoft since they expect for the platform owner to finally deliver something as good as PS4 is doing and they deserve.

Spencer Hints At JRPG At Xbox E3 2018 Media Briefing

In this context, a new conversation on Twitter with Phil Spencer and fans lets us hope about reinvigorated efforts from the Xbox team in terms of Japanese titles being brought to the console.

The fan in question asked if the audience is “gonna see JRPGs” on stage at E3, and Spencer surprisingly said that “as of now, yes.” “Things can change but like last year I wanted to make sure we supported our Japanese publishers on our stage and this year we are working to do the same. It’s important to us.”

The second part of the tweet is a bit generic, as “Japanese publishers” launch a lot of stuff that’s not necessarily JRPG. One game that could be part of the presser is, in my opinion, Code Vein, considering the good relationship between Bandai Namco and Microsoft: last year, they revealed Dragon Ball FighterZ at Xbox’s E3.

Interestingly, answering a specific question on Yakuza, the head of Xbox also said “that would be cool to see” some of the “good franchises” from SEGA come over to his consoles. It’s believed that, after the end of Kiryu Kazuma’s saga, the IP could go multiplatform.

Microsoft’s E3 2018 begins on June 10.
