According to a leak, we could have our Resident Evil 3 remake way sooner than we think.

Based on the same source of the Resident Evil 8 rumor we’ve just reported, we learn that Capcom is very interested in remaking the third chapter from the original saga.

The source says they’re already in talks to getting started, or the work might’ve been even begun as the development on RE2 has wrapped up by the end of the last year.

In the latter case, it looks like – similarly to what happened with the original games – Resident Evil 3 remake could be coming as early as next year.

Anyway, at least for the time being, we should not expect other remakes.

At this moment, the Japanese studio is rumored to be working on Resident Evil 8 and Resident Evil 3 alone, with the latter that should be around before the next main game in the series.

Other classics such as Code Veronica are not being considered at this point, while there’s no interest in remaking Resident Evil 4, which would’ve very little novelty in comparison with the original, and 5 or 6, that have never met fans’ appreciation.

We’ve discussed earlier this week about Capcom’s conditions for remaking Resident Evil 3, and you can check them here.
