The online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 will begin with a beta after the game’s initial launch, Rockstar Games announced today.

Red Dead Online is planned to launch in November of this year, with “more news to come soon.” This basically means that the online play won’t be in the game at launch, much in the same way that Grand Theft Auto V’s online mode came after the game’s release.

Red Dead Online is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways,” Rockstar said. “Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.”

Anyone who owns Red Dead Redemption 2 will gain access to Red Dead Online, on either PS4 or Xbox One. There’s currently no plans for the game to launch on PC.

The online mode for the original Red Dead Redemption featured an open world full of missions and random fun, so players are hoping for more of the same, with improvements and additions as well.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on Oct. 26.
