We’ve already reported about rumors of a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption, said to be coming Dec. 2020 or Jan. 2021. But we have some more news about the Rockstar Games franchise. Potentially, it looks like there’s a chance for single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.

According to Reddit user throwaway11113454, via GamesRadar+, Rockstar Games might be working on a story-based, single-player DLC content for the game. It’s set to release on the PS4 and Xbox One. Something unusual if you consider GTA V has solely received multiplayer and cosmetic stuff for GTA V after release.

However, the studio would work on this content for a Dec. 2019 or Jan. 2020 launch. That launch window is close to when the Undead Nightmare expansion dropped for the original RDR. Instead of zombies, though, players would get to fight aliens.

Aliens have already appeared in the form of easter eggs in the massive open world of the western action-adventure game. So it would make sense in a certain way to have them preparing the field for such an expansion.

The following paragraph contains spoilers – beware just in-case you’ve not completed the story mode of Red Dead Redemption 2

The rumor is that Arthur Morgan is going to be the main protagonist in this DLC, despite being dead at the end of the game. That would mean the expansion would work utterly different from the core story, similar to what happened with the Undead Nightmare DLC and John Marston, who died at the end of the original.

Of course, there’s a chance that none of this is true. We can’t verify the information yet. So, bear in mind that what you’ve read is a pure rumor at the time being. However, does this feel like something that should happen to RDR2?
