According to a tweet coming from Red Dead News Twitter account, it looks like Red Dead Redemption 2’s NPC will offer different dialogues based on whether you have the mini-map activated or not.

The news itself comes from a Croatian magazine called Gameplay, with the information translated by GTANet. The dialogue will change with the characters “giving you directions involving routes and landmarks.”

It’s not a huge difference but one that gives you the idea of how much care for the detail and realism Rockstar Games poured into its new title.

It’s something similar to what Ubisoft strived to do with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s exploration mode, where you need to talk to people, learn the details of quest locations and find them yourself, with markers popping up only once you’ve found them.

It’s easier than it looks so don’t expect anything substantial, but the interesting thing here is Red Dead Redemption 2 will push even further on that ‘design rule’, as you won’t have a mini-map to guide you through the process of finding quests.

The western based open world game from the makers of Grand Theft Auto is releasing on October 26, 2018.
