Radical Heights developer Boss Key Productions is no more.

Boss Key co-founder Cliff Bleszinski announced the studio’s closure on Twitter on May 14. “LawBreakers was a great game that unfortunately failed to gain traction, and, in a last ditch attempt, we scrambled to do our take on the huge battle royale genre with Radical Heights, which was well-received, however, it was too little too late,” Bleszinski wrote.

Radical Heights launched on April 11 and peaked at just over 8,700 players on its first day., according to the Steam Database. The game’s player count decreased by 82 percent in just two weeks, too. Bleszinski said the Radical Heights servers will remain up “for the near future.”

LawBreakers was released in 2017 and followed a similar path. In October, it was reported that the game dropped to only 10 players online at a given time. The studio announced in early April that LawBreakers would receive no more major updates or patches, rendering it effectively dead.

Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee co-founded the studio in 2014. The first-person shooter for PC and PlayStation 4 was Boss Key’s first title. Radical Heights was its second and last game. Bleszinski said in today’s announcement that he’ll take “time some time off and reflect.”

“Video games will forever be a part of who I am and I hope to make something new again someday,” he wrote. “However, I need to withdraw and take this time.”
