Pokémon Presents livestream coming tomorrow — could there be a remake announcement?
Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Unite, and more could also feature in the stream.
Tomorrow, the official Pokémon YouTube channel will host a Pokémon Presents stream. The thumbnail for the video indicates that this stream will feature celebrations and announcements linked to the 25th anniversary of Pokémon ahead of Pokémon Day on February 27. The stream will run for 20 minutes and begins at 10 AM ET.
What will the stream entail? Nothing official has been revealed, but we have rumors to look toward. The biggest rumor over the last few months has been about potential remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. According to leaks from Spanish Pokémon news site Centro Pokémon, the remakes would capture a feel closer to the originals, rather than opt for a Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee style of game.
Several Pokémon-related rumors have emerged since the launch of Pokémon Sword & Shield’s last DLC, The Crown Tundra, too. In June 2020, a Pokémon Presents stream was used to announce the upcoming Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Unite, and new products in Pokémon The Trading Card Game.
One piece of news that’s sure to come tomorrow is that of a celebratory event in Pokémon Go. While we may get some news on a release date for Pokemon Unite, another mobile title, that’s far from most fans’ main focus.
New DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield could also be in the cards. With nothing else on the horizon for the games, new expansions would provide players with a reason to return to the Galar region and capture even more brand new Pokémon.
On Pokémon Day, a virtual concert with Post Malone will be streamed on the same channel. The event will come after the Pokémon Presents stream, so there could also be a small preview before the actual show.
