While the world of gaming has been surprised, and for a certain extent delighted, by the announcement of the latest entry in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee, new information has been shared about the game that is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019.

That game, as you might recall, is the game that was announced back at E3 2017, and the game every Pokemon fan is still waiting for as it is going to represent something completely new to the entire franchise.

Pokemon 2019 Game Details Revealed - Features Gen 8 Pokemon

This was recently confirmed during an interview with Famitsu by The Pokemon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, who told the magazine that Pokemon 2019 is releasing in the second half of next year and featuring Gen 8 Pokemon.

So, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee have a full year ahead to flourish and become an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to the Pokemon games on consoles, representing the second title of the franchise, after Quest, to drop on Switch.

It’s coming complete of the Kanto region and that region’s Pokemon, which as you might know are coming straight from the Gen 1. So, the games are not dropping any new Pokemon at all, something we’ll need to wait for the 2019 release to finally see.

It’s unlikely we’ll learn more at E3 2018, which is probably going to be focused on Pokemon Let’s Go, but expect a specific Direct broadcast at some point in the first half of 2019 for more information.
