For years now it has felt like Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord was just over the horizon, but now we can hear the hooves of the cavalry as they prepare the charge into Early Access. TaleWorlds Entertainment has revealed that the game will be coming to Early Access on Steam in March 2020. While no exact day within March is set, it is good to know what month it will be released finally.

Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is the follow up to the acclaimed medieval combat simulator and role-playing game Mount and Blade: Warband. This one will be something of a prequel, set 200 years before the original game.

It will feature siege gameplay, requiring you to construct, position and fire a range of siege weapons. You can also engage in diplomacy as you attempt to aid your plans with honeyed-words instead of sharpened-steel. There will also be an all-new barter system that will allow you to use trades to further your relationships with NPCs.

Supply and demand will affect the in-game economy, so if you want to make a killing on investment, you might need to make a kill in a rivals kingdom as well. The game will also use a custom-built engine, designed for the exact needs of Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord.

No price has been set for the game yet, but we will keep you updated on any further news.
