In a recent press release, Capcom announced that their most recent game, Monster Hunter: World, the latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise has reached another milestone, i.e. the game has now sold over 6 million copies globally.

Monster Hunter World Sale Crosses 6 Million Mark

The game sold 6 million copies which include both retail copies and digital downloads. And the sales figure includes sales from platforms PS4 and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter World was just released last month, towards the end of the month, i.e. 26th January. And within such a short duration the game sold over 6 million copies and that is a record on its own. This not only made the game the best-selling top paid game on Xbox One but, also made the game the fastest selling game in Capcom’s publishing history.

The game passed 1.5 million sales mark recently in Japan in only two weeks and that makes the game hold the record of the highest debut rate in Japan which is not on a portable console.

The game is currently available on Xbox One and PS4, with a PC version coming later this year.
