Little Nightmares series potentially put to an end, as creator moves onto new IPs
Embracer suggests Tarsier’s work on the series is officially over.

If Little Nightmares is receiving another sequel in the near future, original creator Tarsier Studios will not be its developer. In an earnings report from Embracer Group, its parent company has claimed that Tarsier will now shift its focus onto something entirely different.
“Now, having that game created, they will move over to create new IPs,” Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors asserted when speaking on the release of Little Nightmares 2. It doesn’t appear Tarsier will return to the series even after its next project, as the report itself established that it will develop new franchises “from now on.”
Although the studio has worked on each Little Nightmares installment, publisher Bandai Namco currently holds ownership of its property. Thus, the publisher would now have to tap a new studio to head a potential third game if it plans to continue its existence.
The announcement does come at an awkward time. Although only launching just last week, many fans had expected Little Nightmares 2 to deliver an onslaught of DLC down the road, especially as Tarsier offered a myriad of post-launch levels to the first installment.
Little Nightmares 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, with backwards compatibility on next-gen consoles. In our review for the puzzle-platforming sequel, we declared Little Nightmares 2 as “an atmospheric, unsettling experience that stays with you after the dust has settled.”
