Jokerd, a Twitch streamer, became the first to reach max level in World of Warcraft Classic.

In a world-first, Jokerd won the race to max level in World of Warcraft Classic. Daniel, better known by his online handle JokerdTV, reached level 60 on his mage in World of Warcraft in front of an audience of over 270 thousand in a nearly 19-hour long stream.

Jokerd began the stream yesterday intending to reach level 60. The speed run of the game was plagued by accusations of layering and account sharing, forcing some to question the validity of his success. Nearing the 19-hour mark, Jokerd got his mage up to level 60. In-game chat and Twitch chat flooded with messages of congratulations. The messages were so prominent; his screen was nothing but chaotic chat bubbles.

World of Warcraft Classic was released earlier this week. WoW: Classic’s release was welcomed by fans and Twitch as they dove straight into the ancient content. Speedrunners, like Jokerd, strived to be the first to reach that level cap.

Other streamers are sure to follow. Due to the accusations of account sharing and layering, other streamers will likely carve their mark by claiming their success is more worthy or valid.

Jokerd ended his near 19-hour long streaming session with the promise to return. There are new goals to reach in the game still. Level 60 was merely the first step in a long line of achievements. Jokerd stated he would attempt to get some of the epic mounts in his next stream.
