Harry Potter Wizards Unite Releases on June 21

For those who have stayed away from Pokemon Go, but enjoyed the concept of an augmented reality mobile game, this may pique your interest. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, the AR-based game made by the same company who did Pokemon Go, is releasing later this week on June 21. This information was shared in Los Angeles during a presentation, earlier today.
The announcement already came with a launch trailer, which you can watch below.
It’s going to be a free-to-play mobile game set in the Harry Potter universe. Players are going to have the opportunity to learn spells, take part in epic quests, and explore their neighborhoods using incredible magic.
However, there are micro-transactions, such as using real money to purchase the premium currency labeled as gold.
Players are going to assume the role of a character assigned the position in the Statute of Secrecy Task Force. The Ministry of Magic created the role to take control of a specific event, known as the Calamity. The Calamity caused a variety of magical objects to appear throughout the muggle-world, and it’s up to the players to attempt to contain them, bringing things back to normal.
It’s going to work similarly to Pokemon Go, where random events are going to pop up as you explore the world. Your character is going to have to deal with them using the variety of different skills and spells at their disposal. Unlike Pokemon Go, players are going to have the chance to venture down their skill trees, developing new spells based on their career choices. This mechanic sets it apart of the Pokemon game.
If you haven’t already, you can still pre-register for the game on Google Play if you have an Android smartphone. With the game releasing this Friday, anyone who pre-registers for the game right now is not going to have to wait too long to play.
