Sorry, Halo isn’t getting a battle royale mode

Bad news for Halo fans eager to merge their Fortnite addiction with sticky grenades. During a livestream on Halo’s Mixer channel, 343 Industries revealed that Halo won’t be receiving a battle royale mode no matter how vogue.
343 Industries fielding questions from viewers about Halo’s future while playing Halo 5: Guardians. One of the viewers asked whether the upcoming Halo Infinite will feature a battle royale mode, and that’s when 343 writer Jeff “Grim Brother One” Easterling popped in to explain that Halo won’t be getting a battle royale mode.
“I’ll tell you right now, the only BR we’re interested in is Battle Rifle,” he said. “The original BR. So, calm yourself.”
The term “Battle Rifle” refers to a series of weapons used by the United Nations Space Command throughout the Halo series. Originally introduced in Halo 2 with the BR55 Service Rifle, the Battle Rifle has seen numerous changes over the past few Halo releases, and it remains a multiplayer staple to this day.
Halo Infinite was revealed earlier this year at E3 2018. The game is expected for sometime in 2019, although for now it remains unclear when the game will launch. While the upcoming Halo title isn’t set to receive a battle royale mode, several other major upcoming console releases are developing their own takes on the immensely popular genre, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V. Fortnite is the king of the mountain, but things could shift as sizable competition approach with the holiday season.
