Several Grand Theft Auto IV music tracks could be disappearing soon

If music is a huge part of your Grand Theft Auto experience, like it is for many of us, prepare for some potential disappointment. A whole decade after Grand Theft Auto IV brought us the tale of Niko Bellic, several music tracks from the game will reportedly be removed, due to a series of expiring licenses.
Kotaku UK reports that ” a lot of music” could be removed from the classic Grand Theft Auto adventure in the coming weeks, as early as April 26. While there isn’t a list of tracks slated for removal, an unnamed source claimed that there’d be a significant number of songs removed. Interestingly enough, however, it seems that PlayStation 3 owners would be able to download digital versions of the songs slated for removed in the future.
It’s also unclear if Xbox 360 and Xbox One or PC players would be afforded the same luxury, or why Rockstar Games doesn’t re-license the tracks instead of removing them entirely from the game. This isn’t the first time the company has done something similar. Its patch for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back in 2014 removed 17 songs from the game, all without notifying players ahead of time.
If these songs do indeed end up removed from the game, hopefully there’s some sort of plan to restore them, or at the very least ensure players know what they’re getting into. Just don’t let it happen to Radio Broker, please!
